Under Luna is a non-toxic, holistic, plant-based hair care brand founded by Carly Castillo Ferrarese. Built around a scalp-first philosophy, the brand focuses on creating transparent, thoughtfully formulated hair care while transforming everyday routines into nourishing self-care rituals.
The Origin Story
Before becoming a mother, Carly recognized a lack of transparency within the conventional beauty industry and began searching for a more natural approach to caring for herself and her family. She turned to traditional plant-based practices and studied hair rituals, herbal remedies, and botanical traditions from Ayurvedic and Native American cultures.
This exploration inspired Carly to create Under Luna’s first product, Warrior Shampoo, in 2016. Soon after launching the brand, Carly welcomed her daughter, Luna, whose name became the inspiration for Under Luna.
