Black file side - Start with dry nails. File each side of the nail using even pressure, only filing in one direction to avoid creating micro tears in the nail. Then use the same amount of pressure to file the center until desired shape is achieved.
Orange Polishing Pad- Drag back and forth on the nail plate until the entire nail has been polished.
