For Love & Lemons began as a little lemonade stand in a small country town in Wyoming back in 1996. Laura Hall and Gillian Rose Kern found each other at 11 years old and, as little girls do, created a fantasy world for themselves based on and fueled by very adult concepts: female camaraderie and love and compassion for all. Although cups of lemonade have now given way to Ready-to-Wear, Lingerie, Knitwear, SWIM and Lil’ Lemons, Laura and Gillian still believe in and run their business by the same guiding principles. We make enchanting clothing for the vibrant muse unafraid to take risks, forge their own way and embrace a bit of adventure.
TEAM SUSTAINABILITY
We’ve hired a dedicated Sustainability Designer who will oversee research and development for all of our sustainability goals.
PUT TO GOOD USE
In order to use up leftover fabric and trims, we use these materials to create our fit samples whenever possible. 100% of our Spring ‘21 prototype samples used leftover materials.
LIGHT FOOTPRINT
To reduce our carbon footprint, we produce our garments in only two countries and two factories - one for our RTW collections and one for #FLLforVS - rather than spreading production across several factories and countries.
CERTIFIED LOVE
We are GOTS and GRS certified for our recycled and organic materials. We also ask that each fabric vendor provides us a certification for any such claim.
PRINTS PLEASE
We use digital printing almost exclusively since it is more sustainable than screen printing. With digital printing:
✔️ We’re reducing fabric waste
✔️ Our fabric doesn’t need as many wash and rinse cycles and there is less wasted surplus ink, which means less chemicals in our waterways
✔️ There are no screens or colorant baths that require cleaning and no setup equipment which often goes into landfills
